Layer 2 Hardware Encryption: Gigabit Ethernet up to 10Gbps

WoneCypher is a layer 2 hardware encryption solution for Ethernet Services in optical fiber point to point links up to 10Gbps.This new solution, based on ultrafast digital processing using FPGA, can be combined with other technologies employed by Wonesys in their metro and access solutions, such as the DWDM transponders or Ethernet demarcation cards.

Currently, there is a proliferation of new services outsourced in whose network must be confidential: cloud applications, services, applications and backup’s in data centers, implementation of virtual private networks (VPN’s), new multimedia applications with bandwidth required (telepresence), etc. These applications require that CPE provide optimum performance encryption against high vulnerability of the optical fiber, with minimal latency, minimal overhead and maximum efficiency to transmission rates up to 10Gbps.

The current legal framework for data protection requires that telecommunications carriers, ISP’s, bank’s, etc, establish appropriate technical and organizational means to protect private data against unauthorized. Therefore, the protection of data carried on fiber optic networks will be mandatory.
